Crochet Rolland the Roly Poly Plushie!

Rolland the Roly-Poly is a fun little character that Whimsy comes across on her first adventure in the TALES OF WHIMSY children’s book series that I wrote and illustrated! If you’d like to Pre-Order a signed copy of the book (shipping depends on if I have stock on hand or have to order and can take 1-2 weeks from purchase date to ship), you can grab your copy here. You can also order a copy on Amazon if you’d like to get the book even faster or if you are outside the continental US.

Since I am a crochet designer, thinking of my characters in 3D and contemplating how I might bring them to life with crochet, is so much fun, and in turn I can’t wait to share these with all of you here on FRIZZY BEE CROCHET!

You can catch the full video tutorial and follow along, or the pattern has been provided for you below. I hope to see your wee Rollands soon! You can share them with me by tagging #frizzybeebooks and/or #talesofwhimsy on social media or @frizzybeebooks and/or @frizzybeecrochet on YouTube!

1. Sew Head Cap to Head in FLO, so that you leave the back loops as a ridge around the Head Cap.

2. Stuff Body.

3. Sew Head to Body, making sure to angle the eyes/face slightly upward. Also make sure that the eyes are aligned straight forward with the body so that he isn't looking askew.

4. Sew Shell to Body using a running stitch just about 1/8" in from the outer edge, leaving the edge unsewn.

5. Sew Feet to bottom of Body in two rows of 7 each.

6. Sew Antennae to top of Rolland's Head Cap on either side of the Head Cap's widow's peak.

Rolland is now complete! What a cheeky little guy!
